¨       Meeting Minutes from August: Motion by Cris to approve the minutes with second by Joe (passed).

¨       Treasures Report: Read by Cris: moved by Joe with second by Steve and Don (passed). Checking: $2,324.19  Savings: $2001.35

There are 3 – 4 members due to pay their memberships this month.

Old Business:

¨       Doug Giffore IRS 1023 Form/Filing: This has now been filed with the IRS along with a $500.00 check.  We didn’t have to move money from savings since we had the last function at Plazma for the Court.  This will take approximately 21 days to process.  If we ever jeopardized this we would have to pay fines/penalties.  Joe made copies for everyone, so please read them over and ask any questions.  We may have to add the Conflict of Interest Policy to our own by-laws.

¨       Hellfire Ball: Steve, Don, Craig and Michael met with Regina and Judy (owner of Cruisin’ 7th and went over the details for the show.  It was decided to start the function at 8:00pm to draw people in and then the show to start approximately at 10:30pm.  The MC’s will be Steve, Jennifer, Julie and Regina.  It has been decided that the money, even though a state function, will benefit Regina’s charity H.O.W. (Honesty, Open-mindedness and Willingness).  Suggested donation at the door is $5.00 but any amount will be accepted.  Steven Bloom and Joseph Brumley are making a prototype of the poster for the event.  The posters to promote will be 1 X 1 ½ and printed by Derrick at Bud Light.  The prizes for best costume are as follows:

1st $150.00 cash

2nd $75.00 Bar Tab donated by Judy

3rd $50.00 Bar Tab donated by Regina.

Opening production number to either be from Thriller, Little Shop of Horrors or Monster Mash.

¨       Business Cards: Marshall and Jazmeen yet to pay.  These are for a box of 1,000 cards for $32.00.  If there are any changes to be made there is an additional $20.00 fee to redo the file.  The cards already ordered should be here in about a week.

¨       Bio’s and Photos: The photo session went well on September 9th with Wayne.  It was very professional.  Anyone needing to make up his or her time is to contact Wayne directly to set up a time.  You can purchase photos at an additional expense to you.  Bio’s need to be to Joseph Brumley by Friday September 22, 2006, send to leatherboyaz@msn.com.

¨       Rainbow Festival: We are not allowed to share a booth with Agape or any other organization.  But Ron has allowed the Court to put our literature in his booth for people to pickup on both Saturday and Sunday of the Festival October 7th and 8th.  We have also been sent an email to allow the Court 1 hour on Saturday October 7th to promote the Court and perform.  We will be checking into this further with Don Hamil, to get times, etc.

¨       Tom Simplot: Joe has contacted Tom’s office and he will have one of his aide’s check into this with Mayor Phil Gordon’s office.

¨       Tucson Splash: This was a good event as far as networking in Tucson again.  We were under the impression, from what was discussed in the April Board Meeting, that we would be paid $8.00 hour that would come back to the Court.  That did not happen, but it was brought up to the volunteer coordinator and she will check with her Board.

¨

New Business:

¨       Coronation Ads: Hawaii 25th Silver Jubilee October 26-29 $100.00 full-page ad.  Colorado Springs November $100.00 full-page ad.  There was a motion by Ron and second by Cris to accept these prices (passed).  Another motion by Cris and second by Joe to setup up $100.00 per ad for Coronations unless otherwise discussed (passed).

¨       CPA Doug Giffore: Received invoice for $375.00 for working up the 1023 for the Court.  Moved by Michael and second by Cris to accept and pay.

¨       Agape Turkey Drive: October 22nd – Thanksgiving Day.  Ron would like for the Court to sell a minimum $1,000.00 (200 tickets) for this event.  Tickets are $5.00 a piece and each member would need to sell at least 7 tickets or $35.00 each.  The tickets are turned in to the Food Bank and for each ticket sold they can get either a turkey or ham.  Last year Agape raised approximately 3,000 tickets or $15,000.  The Court would become a sponsor for the event and our logo would be printed on the tickets in color.  Other sponsors include MCC Gentle Shepherd, Red Magazine, 1 Voice Community Center and Agape.  It was moved by Joe and second by Steve to bring this up at the General Membership Meeting to follow.

¨       Agape Event for 1 Voice: Agape to sponsor a drag show for 1 Voice to held at Plazma on October 21st.  This to be brought up at the General Membership Meeting for volunteer performers.

¨       VA Needs: Leroy to bring this up in the General Membership Meeting to list items needed.  We could possibly come up with items throughout the year that are needed off the list.

¨       1 Voice Community Center: Is holding a meeting for different organizations to meet and greet on Wednesday September 20th.  Craig may attend this event.  They are meeting at Lucky Dog Creative 830 N 6th Ave (Roosevelt & 6th Ave).

¨       Silent Auction Diva By Diva:  October 20 – 22 need volunteers to watch the silent auction items on the tables.  This to be brought up at the General Membership Meeting.

¨       Coronation Committee: It was decided that the same people from last year would head up this year’s Coronation also.  They are Steve, Joe, Don, Craig and Michael  Steve will again be in charge of Corporate Sponsorship and Don will be in charge of set design.  The other committee heads will be decided at a later date.

¨       Gay Pride Float: Craig suggested that we start thinking about either building a float for the parade or to have cars.

¨       In-Touch Magazine: Steve suggested that Craig contact Gina to find out when articles that Steve writes will be published.  It seems that articles are a couple of months behind so they are published after our event has run.  Craig will discuss further with Steve and try to come up with a plan with Gina.

¨       Tucson Gay Pride: October 14, 2006

¨       Membership Drive: Michael revised an application found online to use on our website.  This will be given to Joseph to implement.

¨       Mountain Preserve Reception Center: Don had spoken to the management and handed out price lists to all Board Members to take a look at.  We may want to consider using them in the future.  They are retired Firemen and are Not for Profit.

¨       MCC Gentle Shepherd brought up by Ron that Augustana Lutheran Church would be closing its doors.  Gentle Shepherd has a year lease so they will be in the same location for awhile.

¨       Charlie’s Turn-About Show ‘You’ve Been Served: Steve to forward this poster to our emails in Yahoo.

¨       Agreements: It was brought up that that we should come up with a blanket form to use for both fundraisers and when we are asked to volunteer for someone else’s event.  This way we will have everything in writing as to what we expect and what is expected of our organization.  Michael will work on this and try to keep it basic.
