General Membership Meeting

Minutes from 10-14-07

I. Call to order at 2:05pm by Emperor II Michael Gaffney

II. Approval of Minutes from the September meeting – Emperor Michael made the motion to accept as posted on the website, 2^nd by Don Hilton. All approved.

III. Approval of the Treasurer’s Report – Cris Cringle presented the report (need numbers). Cris Cringle made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report as read, 2^nd Allen Hall. All approved.

IV. Old Business:

· Parliamentary Position Vote – Steve LaFata called for moninations for the position. Nominated were Joseph Brumley, CJ Whitmer and Gaby Tako. Joe Kunkel called for the nominations to cease, 2^nd by Allen Hall. Paper was handed out for the ballots. Ballots were taken up by Steve LaFata and Don Hilton to count. Steve LaFata reported back that CJ Whitmer was chosen as our representative to Parliament with Joseph Brumley as the alternate. Ballots were handed to the Secretary for filing and reporting.

· One Building Four Stories – Reminder from Grand Duke Gaby for those that want to attend to contact either Gaby or John Clifford for tickets.

· Regina Gazelle reported on the benefit for This Is H.O.W. – Regina reported that the event went very well with $5,000 being raised.

· Rummage Sale – Emperor Michael reported that the sale brought in $500 and a donation was made to bring the total to $700.

· Pimps and Ho’s – Prince Stephen Bloom and Princess Anita Richman reported that the event was a success with $500 raised for Arizona Center for the Blind. Diane Malladin was introduced and spoke about the center and the money raised. The check was given to her and pictures were taken.

· Rainbow Festival – Emperor Michael and Empress Julie both sent their thanks to those that helped to man the booth with N’Touch Magazine at the Rainbows Festival. N’Touch is wanting to pick up where FLAVAZ left off as our major print media sponsor for the Imperial Court. Michael will be talking with Gina more in the future.

· Macy’s Tickets – Jennifer reported that the sale of Macy’s tickets went very well. All tickets and money were turned in and Jennifer will count and report back to the membership.

· Pride in the Desert – Emperor Michael and Empress Julie will be going down for the day to Tucson for Pride. Those that want to go need to get in touch with the Monarchs.

· Bios, Name Tags & Lanyards – All bios seem to be in. Those that want name tags please see Jennifer.

V. New Business:

· Membership (Businesses) – Emperor Michael proposed that the Board consider making a membership level for businesses. More information will be gathered and the board will consider this for addition to the bylaws.

· Bar Cards – Julie and Michael are having bar cards printed with coronation information so that they can be handed out at the coronations that all of us will be going to in the coming months.

· Corporate Sponsorships – Jennifer aka Joe presented the new corporate sponsorship levels for both annual and event. He is needing help on the annual levels to come up with the perks.

· New Members’ Emails – Emperor Michael asked that any and all new members’ emails be forwarded to the group so that each member can update their membership roster.

· Equality Arizona – Michael might use some of the money from the Emperor’s Ball for this

· Habitat for Humanity – Michael might use some of the money from the Emperor’s Ball for this.

· Emperor’s Ball – October 20^th at Paco Paco. Should be a good night. Still need raffle items and people to perform. We will be getting the money from the door.

· Gentle Shepherd MCC Halloween Show – October 27^th the court again will be helping the church with this event.

· November Show for 1N10 – Joseph and Michael are still working on the venue and such. This should be a great opportunity for the two organizations to help our young people and get them involved in charity work at an early age. More to come.

· Dallas Coronation – Emperor 2 Michael and Empress 2 Julie along with Gary Munson will be attending.

· Colorado Springs Coronation – Emperor 1 Steve and Empress 1 Jennifer will be attending

· Las Vegas Coronation – We will be reserving 2 tables of 10, so we need everyone to decide now and pay their $50 for the coronation tickets. Justice and Joseph are in charge of the costuming for that evening.

· December Christmas Show – Cris Cringle and Ebony will be putting this show together again. Looking at either Phoenix Children’s Hospital and/or Maricopa Pediatric Foundation as the beneficiary.

· December 16^th Show at Charlie’s – The court gets to name the charity. We will only need about 4 performers.

· Diane Daniels Resignation – Empress Julie reported that Diane Daniels has submitted her letter of resignation from Countess and Queen Mother. She will still help out when she can.

VI. Open Forum:

· Would like to welcome our guests: Diane Malladin from Arizona Center for the Blind and Allen Kibbles from AIDs Network Arizona.

· Also would like to welcome 2 new members: Bill aka Sherry and Ling Ling.

VII. Adjourn:
