Ricky Sedillo Financial Assistance Grant
Background
There are times when life hits hard, leaving individuals worried about how they will be able to pay everyday/unexpected expenses, which could have a negative impact on an individual’s quality of life. The Ricky Sedillo Financial Assistance Grant was developed to help individuals that may have financial need due to difficult circumstances. These circumstances could lead to not being able to pay bills and/or purchase basic living needs. This grant is designed to help with all or part of the following: utility bills, medical bills, rent, and/or groceries. Through the efforts of the Imperial Court of Arizona, we want to make it possible to help lessen the burden of these expenses.
Application Requirements
This grant will award an individual up to $500 towards their expense(s). The recipient will show a financial need, their active diligence in finding employment (if applicable), active diligence in researching/applying for State, City and/or County assistance, and show active involvement in their community.

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident of the United States and resident of the State of Arizona for the past 365 days. (If permanent resident, please attach a copy of your residency card).

Applicant MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD OR OLDER.

Applicant can only receive this grant once in a twelve-month period.

Applicant must provide a letter which provides the following:

Why financial assistance is needed?

What the expense is?
-
Amount being requested?

Applicant must demonstrate a need for financial assistance by providing bank statements for the last two months.Applicant must provide official bill statement(s) and/or invoice quote(s).

Applicant must detail the efforts they have made in seeking employment (if applicable).

Applicant must provide any details if State, City, and/or County assistance has been applied for and/or granted.

Applicant must show evidence of community involvement (i.e. school, church, civic, LGBTQ+, etc.).

Applicants that have ever been removed/suspended as a member from the Imperial Court of Arizona will be ineligible for this grant.

Active Board Members and Selection Committee Members are ineligible for this grant.
Payment
Payment will be made directly to the business. In the event the need is for groceries and/or toiletries a gift card to a supermarket within the vicinity of the applicant’s city will be provided.
Decision Making
A Selection Committee made up of representatives from the community will be deciding on the recipient. We look at your story, financial means, community involvement, how this will help, and how you would further assist the grant in growing. It is not an easy decision to make, and we encourage you to also look at several other opportunities as well for financial assistance. We can only provide grants, if funds are available.
